European client Delegation Confirms Trial Order Following an In-Depth Factory Audit at STHL Technology

On July 27, 2026, STHL Technology had the privilege of welcoming a two-person engineering and procurement delegation from European client Delegation Confirms Trial Order Following an In-Depth Factory Audit at STHL Technology for a comprehensive, on-site factory audit. The primary objective of their visit was to evaluate our manufacturing capabilities, process controls, and quality assurance systems for their upcoming high-reliability PCBA projects. After a full day of rigorous production line tours and technical alignments, the clients expressed profound confidence in our manufacturing strength and successfully finalized a trial order on the spot.

The comprehensive factory tour kicked off at our DIP (Dual In-line Package) and wave soldering assembly line. The clients’ product portfolio involves complex industrial control power boards where heavy copper PCBs and high-thermal-mass components—such as large transformers, industrial relays, and high-current connectors—are utilized. These components heavily rely on robust through-hole soldering to ensure long-term mechanical stability and electrical conductivity in harsh operating environments.

To demonstrate our utmost process transparency, our senior process engineers opened the maintenance window of the wave soldering machine. We systematically walked the clients through the internal structure of the solder wave generator, our daily nozzle maintenance protocols, and the real-time temperature control curves. Addressing the specific challenges of soldering heavy copper boards, our team explained the logic behind our independent thermal profile tuning. We demonstrated how we precisely adjust preheat soaking times and conveyor speeds to prevent thermal shock to sensitive components while guaranteeing 100% optimal solder penetration (hole fill). The clients carefully noted these critical parameters and highly praised the strict controllability and engineering depth of our DIP process.

Following the DIP line, the Quality Assurance manager guided the delegation through our SMT (Surface Mount Technology) workshops, highlighting our inline 3D SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) and 3D AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems. To provide a closer look at our First Article Inspection (FAI) process, we used a high-magnification digital microscope to conduct a live, magnified inspection of a PCBA that had just exited the multi-zone reflow oven.

The high-definition screen vividly displayed the precise coplanarity of BGA solder balls, the perfect solder wicking angles on QFP pins, and the excellent pad wetting of 0603 passive components. The clients were invited to take the controls, adjusting the focus themselves to closely examine the micro-level soldering details of two critical ICs specific to their project. This hands-on experience was followed by a detailed technical alignment with our QA engineers, ensuring all criteria strictly met IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 standards.

After a thorough evaluation of our equipment configurations, process documentation, component sourcing capabilities, and production capacity, both parties agreed to officially launch the partnership.

With the trial order expected to be officially issued in the coming days, our NPI (New Product Introduction) engineering team has already initiated pre-production preparations and comprehensive DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews to ensure a flawless and rapid rollout.
